With the combination of milder, more comfortable weather, colorful foliage and the arrival of football season, I am always excited for autumn. The first Notre Dame football game of the season is always one of my favorite days of the year, and it's happening in just three days! I love the competition, spirited rivalries and intricacies of the game, and it makes me so excited to throw a football around, enjoy some grilling at tailgates this fall, and spend my Saturdays watching games.
The weekend of September 13th, I'll be heading back to South Bend for the Notre Dame-Michigan game and am very excited to see the Irish play against one of our biggest rivals, return to campus, and see many of my best friends who will also be back for the game. I always love how familiar it seems when we're all back on campus together - it's as if we never left!Labor Day always also marked "back to school" for me throughout grade school and high school. Labor Day weekend was always the final weekend of summer, and it marked the transition from beaches and lazy summer afternoons to school, soccer and schedules. Even then, however, I usually looked forward to this time of year - getting to see friends every day and start playing soccer again with my team. I know my brother, who's now a sophomore in high school, is enjoying these same things. Although I know it's not complete enjoyment - he started double (or maybe triple, who knows!) sessions for football today, so the "transition" from laziness to intensity was likely more sudden that he'd like. I hope his workouts over the summer prepared him well!
These days, Labor Day also means a new season at work for Dittoe PR. A new
season to obtain coverage for our clients, learn as much as we can about their industries and gain experience working with them. Hopefully we'll all make this fall a great season for our clients.
